The fashion lingo is quite diverse so here are few terms you should know from the fashion glossary. Find out which one flatters you the most.

Fanny Pack
A small fabric pouch secured with a zipper and worn at the waist by a strap around the hips. It is also called bum bag or moon bag.

Culottes
A type of loose shorts which look like a skirt; a divided skirt.

Corduroy
A heavy fabric, usually made of cotton, with vertical ribs.

Bolero
A type of short, buttonless jacket or blouse, open or tied in front and ending at the diaphragm.

Bootleg
Jeans or pants that flare out from the knee to the ankle.

Empire waist
A waistline on a woman's dress that is located immediately below the bust.

Espadrilles
A light shoe having an upper made of fabric and a sole of rope.

Halter top
A style of sleeveless top with a single strap around the back of the neck.

Mules
A shoe that has no fitting or strap around the heel, but which covers the foot.

Trench coat
A long, belted jacket with buttons down the front, usually waterproof.
